phenomenal. this one was an incredible swan song. the subplots with wheeler's shady BF and ross' paternal advice, and some really complex story telling and acting. some nice homages to the history of the show and character (lennie briscoe shout out!) as well.

very nice for logan's departure here to echo his departure before; a victim of politics. sure he didn't punch her, and she deserved it, but logan's integrity remains intact and he handled it as a man who learned from the mistakes of his rash youth, standing up for something that was right and running afoul of a system that is inherently not.

also an interesting closing of the circle, that a boy who lost faith because he was abused by a priest and his mother became a man who would find some resonance from a priest about this lack of faith. because what the priest said is true, logan is a man with few connections, which makes for a lonely existence (and really? we could say the same about goren as well).

nicely understated departure - very respectful of the character and material. i am glad they didn't cheap out and shoot him.

adieu, chris noth.
